American Highway Code US Route 41 History
. As soon as their routes has been originally laid out in 1926, US 41's southern endpoint will be in Naples, Florida by the side of the western endpoint of U.S. Highway 94, which ran east to Miami.
. In 1949, US 94 were decommissioned, and the whole route became part of US 41, giving it an east-west segment that retained the hidden SR 90 designation.
. The former US 94 route ended in Miami, Florida by the same intersection that US 41 (and SR 90) does now. In 1953, US 41 were extended along US 1 and State Road A1A come to an end in Miami Beach, but it was abridged back to the earlier terminus in 2000.
. Proceeding to 1993, when the Florida Department of Transportation uses the orange color code for U.S. highways in Florida. US 41 initially took an additional westerly route among Nashville, Tennessee, Hopkinsville and Kentucky. The current US 41 was U.S. Route 241.
. In 1930, the two other routes became U.S. Route 41W and U.S. Route 41E, but in 1943 the western route became U.S. Route 41 Alternate, through the main US 41 moving to the east route.
. In July 2005, the work has been started in Congress to re-designate US 41 among Milwaukee, Wisconsin as well as Green Bay, Wisconsin the same as Interstate 41.
. The new Interstate Highway would also include US 45 among current US 41 and the intersection through Interstate 894 as well as Interstate 94. It is strongly believed that US 41 by that time would then be re-routed to stay behind concurrent with I-41.
